Restoring Hope: HTFF Supports National Second Chance Month

At Harriet Tubman Freedom Fighters, we believe every individual deserves the opportunity to rebuild, restore, and rise. Recognized as a national monthly initiative, similar to Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Second Chance month promotes awareness regarding the significance of redemption and reentry support throughout the nation. During this annual national event organized by the Florida Rights

Restoration Coalition (FRRC), HTFF provided on-site assistance to community members, facilitating voter registration, status verification, and connections to appropriate resources based on their specific circumstances. HTFF remains dedicated to ensuring that all returning citizens have access to the resources necessary to fully reintegrate into society.

The Second Chance supports individuals returning home from incarceration and those seeking a fresh start through guidance, advocacy, and access to critical resources.

The program helps participants overcome barriers to employment, housing, identification, voting rights restoration, and full community reintegration. Through mentorship and trusted partnerships, HTFF ensures that justice does not end at release—it begins with opportunity.

Second chances strengthen families, reduce recidivism, and build safer, healthier communities for all.

Because redemption deserves support—and opportunity should never be out of reach.
